Bicycle Prices - Consider These Before Buying Road Bike
By Gilang

Road Bike
If you are planning on getting a road bicycle, then continue reading this page, things you need to know about road bikes.
Difference between Mountain Bikes and Road Bicycles
When someone say road bikes, I bet what comes to your mind is a mountain bike because they are the most common bike you see on TV and sometime on the road. The difference between the two is their function and design.
These bicycles are engineered for paved surface; it is also design to produce speed while a mountain bike is designed to pass through rough terrains. To know if you're indeed purchasing such a bicycle in a store, you should be familiar with the characteristics of its parts. For example, handlebars of road bicycles curl downward yet are formed into a T. The wheels of these bicycles are created to decrease friction on the road by touching it only at a minimum, thus they are narrow and below high pressure when fully aired. The bike frames meanwhile are mostly made of lightweight materials but are sturdy. On the other hand, a road bike's pedals are platform, wider than normal and may come with toe clips. Considerations before Buying these Bicycles for Sale
As for anything else, take a look at your situation first before buying these bicycles. If you have a budget, then you know that you're only allowed to consider those few bicycles for sale that fits your budget. If you're buying a bike for your teenager, then chances are, you will need a bike that would have enough reflectors to make sure that your child can be seen on the road easily. Go ahead and buy a road bicycle, but make sure to take note of this information.

Bike Frames

Choosing the Right Bike Frame
By Gilang

Schwinn Mountain Bike Frame
Bicycle frames were originally manufactured in steel, were very heavy, the angles lay back with a long wheel base, making for a comfortable ride on the rough roads of those old times. However today's fast roads and racing conditions are different and have made these old frames obsolete.

However these frames got lighter over the years, matching in performance with the changing scenario. Alloy steel frames made that big change as they could be joined with each other strongly and safely to make a responsive and very light frames.
Titanium Bike Frames for Life (racing Bike)
Titanium is very nice, light, but will give us a hard ride. Mixing titanium main tubes with carbon forks and back ends would be best for easy handling, and maximum comfort. There are a number of variant also coming in the market every other day, so check out if there is a new one which has arrived.
Carbon Fiber Bike Frames - Light yet Tough (Racing Bike, Mountain Bike, DH)
These frames can be made into different designs as carbon can be molded or wrapped in many different shapes, and not just in round profiles. They can also be flat for aero-dynamics, or square for strength, or a mixture of all these as we find them in the market today. Made for providing strength, comfort, aero-dynamics and style, they come in many colors, but usually black to show off the beautiful carbon fiber weave.
Alloy Bike Frames - for All Types (BMX, Mountain Bike)
Part Bike Frame
Alloy frames are these days the most common choice, and which are combined with carbon forks, and carbon chain and seat stays at the back in some cases. Alloy frames are economical and are able to keep the bike light, and which most bike frame reviews will vouch for.
Go ahead, you can now have the cake, and eat it too. You have plenty to choose from, where all depends on how much you are willing to spend. Whatever be your pocket size, you will find a suitable bike frame to go along with that.

Bicycle Wheels

Bicycle Wheels – For Your Best Bicycle
By gilang

Bicycle Wheel Jobst Brandt
Most people would think of bicycle wheels as just round objects that allow bicycles to roll. The rim gives the basic round shape to the wheel and features a lip where the tires are tucked in. The hub is the center part of the tire and is usually made of aluminum. Road wheels can also come with high-performance or puncture resistant tires. Mountain Bike Wheels have thicker and heavier rims and spokes, making it sturdier when colliding with off-road obstacles. BMX Wheels, which are made for performing tricks, are wider and shorter than mountain bike wheels to provide better grip and more maneuverability.
Bicycle wheels are categorized according to their primary use. Using this manner of categorization there are four categories of wheels. These are the racing wheels, mountain bike wheels, BMX wheels and the road bicycle wheels.

In the creation or manufacturing of this type of bicycle wheels several factors are being put into consideration so that the optimum performance during the race is achieved. These factors are aerodynamics, weight, rotational inertia, bearing smoothness and stiffness.

Schwinn Wheels
There are two types of wheels developed that falls under this category- these are the 26 and 29 inches wheels.
The 26 inch wheels are the most common and best choice when it comes to off road biking. The typical 26-inch rim has a diameter of 559 mm (22.0") and an outside tire diameter of about 26.2" (665 mm). These are best for lightweight cyclists. For heavy bicyclist, 29 inch bicycle wheels are the best option. Its thick rims and larger diameter can support heavy riders and can withstand longer in off road racing. These types of mountain bike wheels also conform to the 700C but it is much wider and far sturdier compared to the latter,  which is popular in cross country biking for longer distances. Their rim diameter of 622 mm (~24.5 inch) is identical to most road, hybrid and touring bicycles but is typically reinforced for greater durability in off-road riding.

wheels BMX wheels
Bicycle Motocross (BMX) wheels are usually 20 inches in diameter with a rim diameter of 406 mm. Since BMX is an extreme sport, the small size of the wheels makes it stronger against the additional loads generated by BMX jump and stunts. Also its size reduces rotational inertia and increases wheel acceleration.

Specialized Bikes - What Is So Special?
By gilang

Specialized Mountain Bike 2012
The people who are beginning with biking can never go wrong with a specialized range of mountain bikes. Cycling enthusiasts are discriminated under this range of mountain bikes and this label of brand is famous for its performance other than having a captivating name.
The Rockhopper line has ranked high among the consumers for a long time under the label of specialized mountain bikes. Specialized bikes weigh about 30 pounds on an average. Specialized manufacturers prefer aluminum because it's known for its durability and light weight. Through a trail bike test one can test the value of the bike and judge its performance while transporting through strenuous uphill climbs and exposing it to rough elements.

Specialized Racing Bike
Specialization also means manufacturing better quality "budget" bikes which mean that the trail bicycles are priced lower than the industrial standard for similar calibre in every bike shop. For instance, a low priced competition grade specialized model cost more than $1000. Before starting at this price, one must take note of the fact that special bikes are expected to compete with brand names like Trek, Marin and Giant bike some of whom sell their "budget" models at higher prices. However one must always want to accomplish the peak of the line service and performance from specialized mountain bikes.
Take the Specialized Allez Comp 2011; this bike has been completely re-designed for 2011 integrating key features such as tarmac geometry alignment and increased frame stiffness, the frame is 20% stiffer than the 2010 version. Another of the Specialized bikes range that has seen a revival for 2011 is the Specialized Hardrock 2011.
